Applicants must have a minimum of 25 hours of community service completed before then; students should keep track of the hours they perform beginning with their freshman year of high school. The induction ceremony is in the spring each year. Even though juniors and seniors are the only students eligible for this club, your participation in activities, attitude in and out of class, and the initiative you take in your freshman and sophomore years can influence your eligibility for this organization. Students in NHS perform fundraising activities such as the concession stand for the Boy’s basketball games, act as student tutors, take field trips, and participate in various community activities throughout the year. All NHS members are required to complete 30 hours of community service to maintain their membership. Meetings are twice a month.
